All of our timber is a 100% sustainably sourced, certified hardwood. The full shutter profiles including the frame, slats and panels, are made from either Paulownia or Basswood solid hardwood. We do not use any MDF or composite in our shutters, due to the inferior nature of these products.

The two types of wood we offer are extremely durable, stable and smooth which allows for a well finished shutter profile. Both solid wood materials have very high levels of fire retardancy, which is essential.

  • Each shutter is crafted with a veneered hardwood core, strategically layered in opposing directions and sealed with heat and pressure for enhanced strength.

  • Both hardwood timbers we utilise are sturdy enough to undergo treatments to prevent warping and swelling, including temperature conditioning to ensure long-lasting durability.

  • Employing mortise and tenon joinery results in a more robust shutter solution, maintaining strength under stress and movement.

  • Our shutters receive a protective finish. The paint is either primed with a cellulose base or coated with a layer of polyurethane, safeguarding against UV rays and preventing discolouration.

For bathrooms and areas with high moisture, we offer a fully waterproof UPVC built shutter to echo the style throughout your home. These are available at a 5/6 week lead time.
